Ketawai island located at the north end of the district
Bateng. Extent of about 28 hectares, and is approximately 6 nautical miles from
the village Kurau, district Koba. Tourism here is very diverse, from
snorkeling, diving, fishing, until the regular beach tourism.
The island is famous for beautiful, first set foot on this
island, we will be treated clarity of the water shores, until the fish can be
seen clearly, swim around a floating dock on the shoreline. Soft white sand
beach as well. Enjoy the sunrise or sunset on the beach it increasingly look
exotic.
Travelers can walk around the island taking a motor boat,
which takes 45 minutes. The underwater beauty of the unspoiled coral reefs and
the fish are diverse, perfect for snorkeling or diving. There is a favorite
dive spot, namely in wrecks sunk.
Facilities supporting this object is still minimal, but
adequate. There is a floating dock, floating jetty, changing rooms clothes and
rinse fresh water, toilets, and home guards island. Travelers do not have to worry
if you want to stay on this island. However, the island is no electricity, but
there are local fishermen who lease generators.
Excursions to the island is increasing, especially during
weekends, tourists who come from both local and foreign. Local tourists usually
just traveled around the island alone, while the foreign tourists prefer
snokeling, because of the spot two sunken wrecks, mutually overlapping in
exotic underwater. But tourists need to be careful to get to this spot, it must
be accompanied by a professional diver who memorized this area.
